VIETNAM SAPA COOKING TOUR
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival
Meet your English-speaking guide at Noi Bai Airport. You will drive to your hotel in Hanoi.
Orientation walk or do some activities (if you wish)
Stay in Hanoi hotel.
Day 2: Hanoi –SaPa overnight train (B,L)
Today is a full day exploring Hanoi city. You will first visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex where you can see Ho Chi Minh’s preserved body and learn about his life and his impact on the Vietnamese society. You will visit his house and then walk along the very small alley in Ngoc Ha village with an opened-air market established by locals people from the countryside.
After Ngoc Ha Village, we drive you to the Ethology Museum. This Museum is the best one in Hanoi to learn about the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam. Numerous items such as batiks and tools are displayed in the indoor exhibition and different types of traditional houses are showcased in the outdoor exhibition.
The Temple of Literature is a fascinating site to discover and witness the importance of education throughout Vietnam’s history.
Xich Lo ride (a rickshaw ride) in the Hanoi Old Quarter is great, relaxing and fun. You will be taken to the Old Quarter and its 36 commercial streets selling products such as Chinese medicinal herbs, silver or bronze artifacts. To cap it off, you might want to sip a refreshing beer at Ta Hien Bia Hoi street (Draft Beer) and have fun with local people.
Dinner at your own expense.
In the evening, hop on the overnight train to SaPa.
Stay overnight on the train (you have your own cabin).
Day 3. SAPA Cooking Tour (B, L)
You will arrive at Lao Cai early in the morning, the drive to SaPa is about 1 hour. Then, check-in to your hotel (if the room is available, check in time 14.00), have breakfast and take some rest before the Sapa cooking tour starts.
At 9:00am, you will meet your Chef and go to SaPa’s market and choose all the needed ingredients for the cooking class. At the market, your Chef will tell you how to choose the best vegetables and spices for you to prepare your tasty and delicious dish !
Then, you will prepare the dish yourself with the tips of the chef, it is a hands-on class. After enjoying your meal, you will be given a recipe that you can take home and impress friends and family with a unique recipe !
In the afternoon, discover SaPa on your own or enjoy a relaxing massage (at your own expense).
Dinner at your own expense.
Return to your hotel in SaPa….
Day 4. SaPa - Ma Tra - Ta Phin - Hanoi (B)
Explore the surroundings of SaPa and its local hill tribes. You will walk to Ma Tra village meeting up with H’Mong people. Ma Tra is still an untouched village in Sapa. Strolling along the rice paddies, you will visit a H’Mong family and witness their daily life, their traditions, and unique customs.
You will then be taken to Taphin village where Red Yao people have settled. Their lifestyle, traditions and customs are also extremely distinctive.
Medicine herbs are collected and used widely by Yao people, Herbal bath service is available in this village, perfect for those who wish to have a local experience.
You may wish to buy some embroidered items to support local people before driving back to SaPa for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will have free time for shopping in Sapa and then, you will be taken to Lao Cai to catch the overnight train to Hanoi.
Stay overnight on the train (sleeper cabin).
Day 5. Hanoi
Arrival Hanoi railway station early in the morning, transfer to hotel or fly out. tour end.

The train rides last for 9:30 hours, expect about 4:30 hours if you choose to go by car.
